Removing VLAN from a trunk link

How can i do that?

I mean, how can i forbid VLAN1 (or a range of VLANs) to enter the trunk link of my switch?

Re: Removing VLAN from a trunk link

The concept is called pruning.

You can do automatic pruning by enabling VTP Pruning on a VTP server or manually pruning per port with the 'switchport trunk allowed vlan' command.

Please get familiar with Vlans by reading this document

Re: Removing VLAN from a trunk link

Hi,

The way to remove the vlans is by using "SWITCHPORT TRUNK ALLOWED VLAN REMOVE VLAN ID".

Vlan 1 minimization (Deleting vlan1 from individual trunk) is not allowed on release

12.1(12c EA1) which you are running. This might be causing all the problem (Stopping

protocol packets which can only be communicated through vlan1 ).

Vlan1 minimization is supported from release 12.1(14)EA1 . This is documented in the

following link ( Please look at "new software features" )

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c3550/12114ea1/ol395001.
