my network consists of the normal CORE (2 CAT6506), Distribution (Cat3550 12g, and Access Cat3524 and 3548) I will be upgrading the 3550's and 3500xl's. I have 3 sets of 4 of the 3500xl's "chained" together through the fiber ports going back to 2 separate 3550's. Each "set" is in a separate VLAN. The question I have is should I upgrade to 3750's or to 4948's and combine the access and distribution layers into one combined layer?
You are saying I should keep the original Core,Dist, and Access topology? If so what switch upgrade path would you recommend. I.E what maodel for the dist and access. I like the thought of 96Mb/s throughput(backplane) on the 4948 for the access layer, but what would you use for the distribution layer.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
