Resetting the standby supervisor engine in a Catalyst 6509

Hello, can anybody tell me if there's any consequence of resetting the standby supervisor module in catalyst 6509 witch CatOS?. It's a Dual Supervisor Engine in a chassis. Could this cause disruption in networking operation?.

In addition, I'm trying to follow this procedure:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps700/products_tech_note09186a008015bfa9.shtml#topic1

But the point where it's said to "reset the supervisor engine switch"... what does it mean? Just the standby or the whole switch (that is, active and standby)?.

Thank you in advance.

If your switch is dual SUP and only resetting the standby, it should not cause any traffic interuption.

In regard of the wording in the link from your post, I agree he wording is a bit confusing. However, the document is about recovering an MSFC from ROMMON and the example from the top is a C6500 with single SUP.

HTH,

jerry
