Restoring deleted IOS image

I purchased this switch on ebay, it does work (or at least it did before I deleted the files on it). I have followed the procedure to copy a file from via tftp and hyperterminal but get a permission denied error from hyperterminal and cannot connect from tftp.

I'm connecting via the console cable to a c2912-XL-EN, 8MB RAM. When I type dir flash: I get four options flash, null, bs and something else I can't remember (I'm at work, switch is at home). I know that there is a simple fix or way to proceed but just starting into this arean I need some assistance. Any advice is appreciated.

if you are unable to load a new IOS through HTTP or TFTP or CLI, you can load IOS through XMODEM in ROM monitor mode.

refer this link to get more information.

When you hit enter (after the copy

xmodem: flash:?? command), QUICKLY click

the ?transfer? pull-down menu & start the

xmodem transfer.

Also?. on SOME older Cisco devices the

command is ?copy xmodem: bootflash:

Shelby,

Can you please paste the output of "dir flash:".

Let us know what prompt when you connect the console to the switch.
