Hi,
I am aware that access-list and prefix-list comes under "Route-Filters", does route-map also comes under that category ?

Hello Neo,
route-maps can be used for route filtering or for PBR.
route-maps are the more powerful tool for route filtering allowing not only to filter but also to modify some fields/attributes of the routes.
Hope to help

Hi,
So if in a question its mentioned that no route filtering technique has to be use for blocking certain routes, how do we achieve that ?

Hello Neo,

there can be multiple answers to this depending on the scenario and I would say on the type of exam
locally on node you have a virtual interface called null0:
whatever you route to null0 is silently discarded
ip route 10.220.222.0 255.255.255.0 null0
But even easier and better: if the routing protocol is EIGRP or OSPF you can tailor the network commands to advertise only the IP prefixes you need.
Hope to help
