Route table enquiry

Hi

I have the following output when sh ip route x.x.x.x

sh ip route x.x.x.x

Routing entry for x.x.x.x/30

Known via "connected", distance 0, metric 0 (connected, via interface)

Redistributing via ospf 1

Advertised by ospf 1 subnets route-map hr-loopbacks

Routing Descriptor Blocks:

* directly connected, via Vlan172

Route metric is 0, traffic share count is 1

May i know wat the above output mean. How is the route being learn. Wat the redistributing via ospf mean since it is known via connected.

Someone pls help

Re: Route table enquiry

Hi,

The route is connected "Known via "connected", distance 0, metric 0 (connected, via interface)" and "* directly connected, via Vlan172". The "Redistributing via ospf 1 Advertised by ospf 1 subnets route-map hr-loopbacks" means that the route is redistributed into OSPF via the route-map "hr-loopbacks".

BR,

Mohammed Mahmoud.
