how many vlans can i create in router 2911.
i have created four sub interfaces with vlans, but only two are working/pinging, is there any limitations of vlan or sub int created.

Hi srikanth,
There is no any limitations having subinterfaces on router but we need to consider the load on the router.
If you are unable to ping the vlan interface then it doesnt mean that there is limitation.
Make sure you have atleast interface associated with that vlan (which is not pinging).
And make sure the vlan is created in vlan database file.
And finally what is the vlan status?
Please rate the helpfull posts.

Naidu.

Hi Srikanth,
4 sub interfaces is not a big number. your router should be able to support that.
can you share the following:
1. your running configuration.
2. show int vlan

the interface is not up after assigning an ip to it or in the sub interface..
im using two interface for LAN and ONe for Wan..
gig0/0 ------is UP-----and all the sub interface Ips i can see in the sh ip route command.
gig 0/2 -----is not up -----and i dont even see the IP as the connected subnet in sh ip route.
here is the major difference i have seen
avecrest#sh controllers gigabitEthernet 0/0
nterface GigabitEthernet0/0
