router on stick - no dhcp

Issues:

- unable to receive dhcp addresses across VLAN

- unable to ping between VLANs

Configuration: (see attached diagram)

Cisco 2610 is configured as as DHCP server to serve addresses to 2 VLANs:

VLAN 5 ? wireless

192.168.5.0 /24

VLAN 1 ? users

192.168.1.0 /24

I can?t find out why I can?t get DHCP from router. Trunking is setup between router / 3500 / 2950. Can ping sub-int?s from PC and server when assigning static IP address.

Can?t ping between vlan 1 and vlan 5.

Thanks

Hi,

i noticed the router vlan configuration, in that the real ethernet interface has got the ip address assigned, what i would suggest is, remove the ip address on the ethernet interface & let the other configuration remains same for the sub-interface & then u can try. it workz.

hope this helps you.

In addition give the ip helper-address command under u r sub-interfaces which is the ip of u r DHCP server.
