router reboots

Dear sir,

i have a isdn bri backup line for my leased line,

to check whether the backup is working or not, I removed the backup bri isdn from the router and for a few minutes the bri is working after the router gets hanging, then automatically reboots,

it shows error.

Sounds like a software bug.

Could not find any reference of software bug.

But if you have spare Cisco 1700 with same IOS, then try to test your BRI on it, without much config.

The error message about:"System returned to ROM by error - a SegV exception, PC 0x8014E0FC" is almost certainly a software error. And the 12.1(27b) code that you are running is pretty old and there have been several vulnerabilities identified to which it might be affected. The best advice is to upgrade the IOS to a more recent version.
