Hi Scott,

Is this homework question?

No it snt

Hello Scott,

The Router will be the layer 3 device doing the routing here, you need to configure sub-interfaces ( over the interface connected to the trunk link on the switch) for each vlan ( so 2 on this case).

Just by doing that you will be allowing traffic from one vlan to the other one.

Julio

Hi Scot,

As Julio mentioned, Router would have to be configured with sub-interfaces and you'd have to implement a router-On-a-stick scenario

I came across the following document:

** Configuring InterVLAN Routing and ISL/802.1Q Trunking on a Catalyst 2900XL/3500XL/2950 Switch Using an External Router

http://cisco.com/en/US/customer/tech/tk389/tk815/technologies_configuration_example09186a00800949fd.shtml

Its and old document but it does explain well the setup you are trying to create along with the configuration example.

Hope it helps.

Hi Scott,

As Julio an Neraj mentioned you have to create router-on-a-stick, you have to configure switch with trunk link to router, then you need to create a voice vlan as well on the switch port that connects to IP phone/clients PC (I guess that you mean by clients/phone manager).

I hope this helps
