I'm in need of some help.my problem that i'm having is i'm switching to a new provider and trying to get my existing network to work with the new isp. i have an existing setup as follows: cisco 2600 with a BRI interface (10.50.17.254) from there the traffic is routed through a pix 515e (firewall 10.50.17.253) from there out to the net. what i'm trying to acomplish is all the isdn's in the in the remote locations are being replaced with new t1's and all traffic is being routed through (10.50.17.252 new isp router). the problem i'm having is all info on 10.50.17.0 lan is able to get to the internet but not able to communicate with 10.50.18.0, 10.50.19.0, 10.50.21.0, 10.50.22.0 and all traffic on 10.50.18.0, 10.50.19.0, 10.50.21.0, 10.50.22.0 is unable to communicate with 10.50.17.252 (new isp router) but able to communicate with 10.50.17.254 (existing router) and 10.50.17.253 (pix firewall). please any help would be appreciated. thanks
i have attached a drawing and my pix config. also when on the 10.50.17.0 lan and set my gateway to 10.50.17.252 (gateway of new isp)and try to ping 10.50.18.0, 10.50.19.0, 10.50.21.0, and 10.50.22.0 i get 172.16.0.1 destination host unreachable. thanks for all the help
I cannot put my finger on the 10.50.17.252 router as i could not find it in the diagram attached. Can you please add it to the diagram?
besides, have you recently changed the IP addressing for the 10.50.17.0/24 network?
From my initial analysis to the network, the 10.50.17.0 network is being assigned on two of your network segments; between the firewall and router, and between the router and the host on the bottom right side (this is invalid with /24 being the mask for that bottom right host)
I will be waiting for the updated drawing that includes the 10.50.17.252 router to further investigate.
there has been no changes to the 10.50.17.0 network. from the drawing the 10.50.17.0 network has a gateway of 10.50.17.252 and is unable to ping anything on 10.50.18.0, 10.50.19.0, 10.50.21.0 & 10.50.22.0. everything that goes through the 10.50.17.254 router works but is unable to ping 10.50.17.252. what i'm trying to accomplish is, when i cut a remote location to the new service all info is being sent through 10.50.17.252 but that is as far as it goes. i'm unable to ping 10.50.17.253 etc.
the new isp router is not connected to the old isp router, but is connected to the firewall and internet. the current diagram is what my complete network will look like after all remote locations are cut over the the new service. the problem that i have is everything that is behind the 10.50.17.252 router, except the 10.50.17.0 network is unable to get to the firewall and the internet. the 10.50.17.0 network is only able to get the the internet and firewall, but is unable to ping the 10.50.18.0, 10.50.19.0, 10.50.21.0, 10.50.22.0 network.
