RPS 2300 port priority

Hi.

Let's go to assume we have two 3560E switches obtaining power from RPS 2300. Taking a view to 2300 specifications, no more switches can obtain power from RPS 2300.

What's happen if a thirth 3560E need to obtain power from RPS, but this have higher port priority in RPS 2300? Will RPS 2300 stop to provide power to one of the two 3560E initial switches to provide power for this thirth 3560E switch with higher RPS port priority?

Thanks!

Hi Juan,

Yes, according to the link below, the switch with the highest priority will lose its power last. So, low priority will go down first.

Keep in mind these are really made as a backup to a failed power supply in say a 3560 and not made as any kind of power backup themselves , for that you would need a UPS setup .
