RPS Status on WS-C3750G-48PS-E

Hi All,

We recently connected a RPS 2300 to our switch WS-C3750G-48PS-E with IOS c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-53.SE2.bin.

.

However i do not see any RPS details in the"show env" output.

I believe i should get the RPS Name and its Serial and the port number in the output, but i am not finding it in the output. I did reload the switch but still couldnot get this udpated.

Why is this so ?? Is there any alternate command that helps to see this ??

Importantly i now doubt the Switch w.r.t RPS is functioning properly or not........Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

PS: Power failover test will be carried later when we have a schedule. So till now we have just connected the RPS to the Switch.

Hello Manju,

You are not able to see the RPS details because of a cosmetic bug CSCee96721. During the failover testing everything should work properly. Let me know how the test goes.

Thanks,

Hi Manjunath,

It appears that there is something wrong with the output of "sh env al"l from your switch.

Have a look at this one from a 3750-E

Switch#sh env all

FAN is OK

TEMPERATURE is OK

Temperature Value: 33 Degree Celsius

Temperature State: GREEN

Yellow Threshold : 49 Degree Celsius

Red Threshold    : 59 Degree Celsius

SW  PID                 Serial#     Status           Sys Pwr  PoE Pwr  Watts

SW  Status          RPS Name          RPS Serial#  RPS Port#

--  -------------   ----------------  -----------  ---------

1   <>              <>

Switch#sh ver | inc ver

System image file is "flash:/c3750e-universal-mz.122-52.SE/c3750e-universal-mz.122-52.SE.bin"

The password-recovery mechanism is enabled.

Switch#

But your's does not show the PID for the power supply, the S/N and the Wattage, but it does show that you have an Active RPS.

I would recommend to disconnect and connect the RPS again. Make sure that you remove the cables and plug them back in properly. This should help.
