I need to configure port spanning for call recording across multiple sites, with "monitored ports" (at remote sites) having a destination on a different switch at a different (central) site. I understand the basic concepts of rspan, but the configuration examples show switches linked with a trunk port to carry the rspan VLAN. In the instance where these sites are connected via a layer 3 routed network, how can I get the spanned traffic across sites ? I have no trunk between the switches, can I create one in this scenario ?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
