RSPAN Problem

Hello,

This is the scenario:

We have 4 6506 switches 2 for access layer and 2 for the distributed layer. There are voice gateways connected on the distributed switches and the network analyer are on the access layer port g3/1. The souce span is the voice gateway ports and the voice vlan 200 which are forwarded to the rspan vlan 999.

The monitoring port is on the access layer but i don't see any traffic when i do a show interface which is the port that the network analyer is connected.

Anyone has experience on what to check for SPAN and RSPAN problems?

Thanks,

Chris

In order to monitor traffic across a WAN or different networks, use Encapsulated Remote SwitchPort Analyser (ERSPAN). The ERSPAN feature supports source ports, source VLANs, and destination ports on different switches, which provides remote monitoring of multiple switches across your network.
