hi,

after doing a quick reading here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/service_application_module/sami/user/guide/overview.html

The Reset button manually shuts down the SAMI. To properly shut down the SAMI to prevent data loss, enter the no power enable module command in configuration mode at the router CLI.

If the SAMI fails to respond to this command, shut down the module by  using a small pointed object (such as a paper clip) to access the Reset  button on the front panel of the SAMI. The shutdown procedure may take  several minutes. The Status LED turns off when the module shuts down.

regards,

Hi. before i shutdown the the SAMI module i want to ask one question. why i shutdown the module and how it is help me to solve the problem. if i shutdown the module the status led turn off and what config i do next step?

please help me

Dear Hondoko, what do you think?

hi,

i just read again your first post that you allready did reboot the chassis.

did you remove the sami module without shutting down it first? 7600 support hot swap, but the sami module dont support hot swap.

is this the first time you install the sami module? have you configure it yet?

perhaps it is saver if you do shutdown the whole chassis, and then try to re-insert the sami module, then turn on again the whole chassis. if this fail, im afraid the hardware fails. you may want to contact cisco TAC.

regards,

i shutdown the sami module and write no power enable command. the module is turn off at slot 1. then i  turn off the chasiss and remove it slot 1 and put it slot 3 and turn on. after turn on  chasis the sami module led is red. the supervisor is normally.

yes i know that the sami model is not hot swap.

what is your recomendation?.

can you do show tech-support command, save it in a txt file, and post it here?

you are right, sami module can be use in module 1-4. when you use it in module 1 is it functioning normal?

regards,

no it is not working normally at slot 1. i  will post txt file here.

hi,

i read your show tech support result, and find:

under show log

*Jun 27 09:51:32.951: %DIAG-SP-3-TEST_FAIL: Module 3: TestFirmwareDiagStatus{ID=2} has failed. Error code = 0x7B

and under show diagnostic events

06/27 09:51:32.947 E  [3] TestFirmwareDiagStatus Failed

at this point im not quite certain what's causing the error on the firmware.

perhaps you can connect to the console port of the sami module, and do show tech-support there
