serial, no ip address

If I dont put an ip address on my serial, what will it/not do ?

It will not do IP processing. However if you want IP processing to be done on serial interface without using IP address use IP unnumbered command

if u dont put petrol in your car what will happen it will not run so its simple the router will not be able to route or communicate.......but it can be possible still not putting ip address but can make it work its with ip unnumbered command.....
