Serial or telnet control of VLAN assignment

My application requires the ability to issue a single command to switch VLAN assignments on the fly. Do any switches support this? It seems like all that I've seen use a menu-driven interface when using either of these communication methods.

For example, if I want to switch port 6 to VLAN 3, how would I reliably do that without human interaction (i.e. from a control processor)?

Thanks

Hi,

SNMP would be a good option for making changes without necessarily having human interaction. The link below provides some information on SNMP and changing VLANs using it.
