Dears,

I am getting this message in one of my 6500 switches

%SIBYTE-DFC11-6-SB_RMON_OVRFL: RMON register 20 overflow on mac 1

and the solution is to disable the service internal #no service internal

but the question is when we need to enable and disable this command

Hello Ahmed,

There is bug associated with this.  The bug id is "CSCsr09554" This bug was discovered in 12.2(18)SXF and the fix is to upgrade to 12.2(33)SXI or Remove service internal from the configuration.
