I was wondering if someone could help me out. I have a 6509 running IOS version 12.2(18). It has the statement "service interval" in its configuration. I was wondering if anyone knows the what this command does and where I can find additional information on it.

This is related to ELAM captures on the backplane of the 6500. You can safely remove the command without any impact.
