Hi,

I have a 6509E with SUP720 enginne, I heard with this engine I can split one physical router to multiple virtual router, by using technology "vrf". Is it right?

My purpose is divided this 6509 to multiple virtual router do a layer 3 function, eigrp redistributing, IP, multicast...

propably I have wrong understanding of "vrf" or "split virtual router", so i need help with this?

Any idea or Link very appreciate.

Yes, you can. VFR is sort of the L3 equivalent of L2 VLANs.

On a 6500 with sup720, believe both VRF-Lite and VRF MPLS supported.
