Setting source address of locally generated packets

I want to set the source address of ping packets to the loopback0 address by default.

I know that this can be done using ping in privilege mode, but can the router be made to send all locally generated packets from a specified interface address?

Re: Setting source address of locally generated packets

Hi ,

use ip local policy route-map

Also , because you cannot change the source of the packets , you will have to do nat overload on the loopback.

int lo0

ip nat ouside

!

ip access-list extended acl
permit icmp any any

!

ip nat inside source list acl interface Loopback0 overload

!

route-map test permit 10
set interface Loopback0
match ip address acl

!
ip local policy route-map test
