I need to physically separate 10 LANs now connected together to a single Internet Gateway thru a series of Layer 2 unexpensive switches.
The Internet Gateway router also acts as DHCP server.
LAN 1 <> LAN 2 <> LAN 3 .. <> ROUTER (INTERNET GATEWAY and DHCP)
My idea was to use a Layer 3 switch and VLAN function to create 10 VLANs (one for each physical LAN connected to a single switch port), and route all to another VLAN port connected to the Internet Gateway router to browse the web.

I bought a Cisco SG500X-24 Layer 3 switch, but now my (unexpected) problem is DHCP. Each LAN (of course) should have a different address subnet than the others, and I thought that the switch was capable to "create" a single DHCP Server for each VLAN.
Instead, reading the user guide, it seems that this model doesn't have a DHCP server feature at all.
I hope someone may help me, because I fear I bought the wrong machine to solve my problem.
Hi Andrea, sorry for the late answer, I hope you have solved your issue, but maybe this will be useful for other people encountering the same issue.
What you should do, if your internet router allows it, is set up the port that connects the switch and the router as a trunk and allow all the VLANs you defined, and then you should set up as many interfaces on the router as you need, all tagged with a separate vlan id, and all assigned to a single physical interface.
I don't know what brand/model your router is but as long as it isn't a soho product it should allow you to setup vlans and different interfaces, and allow you to set up a dhcp server with different parameters for each virtual interface.
If your router doesn't support such a feature I suggest you to look at pfsense (http://www.pfsense.org), you will need to install it on a separate machine, but it will allow you to accomplish what you need.
