1) To me it appears that"ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 5.2(8a), RELEASE SOFTWARE" show the bootstrap version if yes then what does"BOOTLDR: 3000 Bootstrap Software (IGS-RXBOOT), Version 10.2(8a), RELEASE SOFTWAR
E (fc1)" indicate ?
"cisco 2500 (68030) processor (revision D) with 16384K/2048K bytes of memory"
The first value, Main Processor memory, is either:
â¢The amount of DRAM available for the processor, or
â¢The total amount of DRAM installed on the system.
The second value, Packet memory, is either:
â¢The total physical input/output (I/O) memory (or "Fast memory") installed on the router (Cisco 4000, 4500, 4700, and 7500 series), or
â¢The amount of "shared memory" used for packet buffering. In the shared memory scheme (Cisco 2500, 2600, 3600, and 7200 Series), a percentage of DRAM is used for packet buffering by the router's network interfaces.
Note The terms "I/O memory" or "iomem"; "shared memory"; "Fast memory" and "PCI memory" all refer to "Packet Memory". Packet memory is either separate physical RAM or shared DRAM.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
