Single span session with multiple destination interfaces

I would like to know what kind of performance issue you can have having a single monitor session with multiple destination interfaces. what is the recomnedation wheather to do separate sessions or with the single session. Thanks

Hi,

no generic performance issues, just check the SPAN and RSPAN session limits for your platform:

for example 3550:

"You can configure (and store in NVRAM) one local SPAN session or multiple RSPAN sessions on a switch. You can configure (and store in NVRAM) a maximum of two SPAN or RSPAN sessions on each switch. You can divide the two sessions between SPAN, RSPAN source, and RSPAN destination sessions. You can configure multiple source ports or source VLANs for each session."

Thanks for the reply. The span session is on the 6513 swicth. would you happen to know the limit on that?
