I have a situation where I am uncertain if the output from the SNMP is correct. A bit of background:
My client has just set up SNMP to monitor two redundant powersupplies on a catalyst 3750X. The output shown by the SNMP is as follows:
Ps1Status = "ok"
Ps2Status = "other"
· Ps1TestResult = 0
Ps2TestResult = 0
chassisMinorAlarm = "off"
chassisMajorAlarm = "off"
The above out put is with both power supplies plugged in, he is curious to the status output that says OTHER. When my client removed one of the power supplies the output was exactly the same. He then plugged that power cable back in and removed the other, and the output still remains the same.
I have not had much experience monitoring power supplies so I wasn't able to answer his question...hence this post.
Is this normal SNMP behavior when monitoring power supplies? to me this doesn't seem right.
Thanks in advance.
