Hi,

I have received this trap on OSPF in NMS. But the log does not show anything on the routers...

Alarm Type : OSPF PACKET RETRANSMIT EVENT

Event : An ospfTxRetransmit trap has been received for router 172.26.1.254. The destination router is 172.26.1.56, the LSA type is SUMMARY-LINK, the LSA ID is 172.25.202.0, and the originating router is 172.26.2.21.

Symptoms : An OSPF packet has been re-transmitted on a non-virtual interface of this router.

Probable Cause : 1) The neighbor router has dropped the packet due to congestion.

2) The packet has been corrupted.

What could be the possible reasons for this trap? There is no possibility of any congestion as it is STM16 link.

Prakash

Were there any other varbinds included with the snmp trap? As this is an snmp trap it will not show up in show logging history.
