There is not specific term for STP like "bounced back" so you need to get back to your seniour to understand what he ment. Possibly he ment that STP received TCN and force the MAC address table to be cleared by resetting the age timer.
Basically you can start checking the STP status with following commands:
show span root
show span sum
show span det ->>>>>> by this you will see if you got any recent TCN on particular Vlans and then trace those.
STP reconverge is broad term but understand like-How many seconds will it take for STP to recover connectivity if a given link fails?
As commands mentioned by Nik will help you to determine which Vlan/Link causing the issue based on number of TCN increment you can find out. Some logs also might help looks at them carefully whats happening on those switches.
