Spanning tree design recommendations

As per diagram attached, what would be the best way to get spanning tree configured (root bridge cost, link, port cost, VLAN's cost...)

Network performance is my main concern.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Spanning tree design recommendations

Hi There

If the diagram attached is an accurate depiction of you network, then IMHO there is not much to be gained by configuring spanning tree.

Spanning tree is used where there are redundant links between switches to avoid loops. Your diagram shows that your core switches are Stacked (1 virtual switch) and each of the other switches only has 1 uplink back to the core. So there is no problem with loops in this scenario. Unless of course somebody runs a trunk between two of the switches, which may cause a loop.

Best Regards,

Re: Spanning tree design recommendations

There are couple of ether channel links only but there will be a number of VLANs.

We had environmental issues (flooding & electricity problems) so most network equipment configs was reloaded from back up due to some weird performance issues.

Thanks for reply.
