Spanning-tree problems

Hi,

I have an Allen Bradley Stratix 8000 which is basically a Cisco IE3000 rebadged.  I have disabled spanning-tree using CNA on default VLAN 1 and VLAN 50 which are the only two VLANs on the switch.  All ports on the switch have VLAN 50 assigned.  When I use wireshark I am still seeing STP protocol coming from this switch.  If I have STP disabled why am I seeing the protocol?  The switch also still acts like STP is enabled because I can remove a device and the ports will pause briefly.  This causes other devices hooked to the switch to fault from comm loss.

I understand that using smartports for portfast should help this situation but it doesnt 100% of the time.  This is why we decided to remove spanning-tree.

Thanks for any help,

Jason

Just a follow up.  I disabled IGMP Snooping on the VLANs and this cured the port pausing issue.  I would rather not do this so any help would be appreciated.
