SSDP flooding issue...

One windows based machine floods network randomly over the course of several hours with SSDP packets (seen via wireshark), about 5000 packets every 10 seconds.....is this behavior normal?   I tried to reserach SSDP, and my impulse would be to say malfuntioning NIC.

Forgot to mention the machine in question is just a normal windows machine that is used to play .avi files on a projector to kids in a Junior HS.
