What is the range for a standard vlan on a Cisco switch? What is the range for a Extended vlan on a Cisco switch?
I've read some documentation and they vary as to the answer. Thanks in advance.

Depends on your switch.
Older 1900 and 2900XL/3500XL do not support extended VLAN. 2940/2950/2955 support of extended VLAN starts on IOS version EA9 (if memory serves me correct).
