Is it possible to configure multiple IP's to same MAC address as a static ARP entry?
We have a 7606 core router and a 6513 core switch. There is a web farm off of the 6513 that requires static ARP to function properly. I configured multiple IPs to map to the same MAC and it caused severe network issues. It appeared to be a broadcast storm as the switch cpu utilization went up to 90%. Is this possible to configure and how can it be done? Thanks.
In addition, these servers are part of a webfarm that are virtual and do not occupy specific interfaces on the switch but utilize numerous interfaces. I am not sure if that changes how this can be done.
