Stop port 80 responding, 1720 Router

Hi,

I have a 1720 running as an edge router. I would like to stop it responding on port 80. I used the "no ip http server" command which is blocking http requests, but as i said i would like the router not to respond at all.

Can anyone give any pointers on this.

Many Thanks

J mack

try configuring no ip unreachable on the interface through which the port 80 request is received (perhaps on all your interfaces to be consistent). This should stop responses.

Hi,

You can configure a ACL and block the incoming HTTP request ( tcp port 80) to the Router's ip address.

Bind this ACL in the incoming direction of the edge link in your router. ( if you want to block the incoming http request from the WAN side)

Additionally you can bind the same ACL on the ethernet interfaces of the router, if required to block the port 80 access completely to the router.

Hope this helps.
