Hi all,
We have problem with users that connect a cable on two ports in the same switch and are doing a loopback and the hole switch die.
I want use the strom-control.
Switch(config)# int fa0/19
Switch(config-if)# storm-control broadcast level 50
Switch(config-if)# storm-control action shutdown
Is level 50 a good value for 100 and 1000 Mbit ports?
F.Y.I We have 15 users switches and 2 backbone switches in our LAN, and all switches have trunk ports and VTP configure.

Sounds more like a spanning tree issue . Maybe you should be using bpdu guard on the switch.

Glen,
I was reading this article http://video.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10878_11-6169808.html
I can see that BPDU guard is disable by defualt on my switches.
Is there any tip or problem to enable the BPDU guard?
Should I enable it on my backbone switches or workstation switches or both?
My two backbone switches are runing VTP server and workstation switches are VTP client.

Hi,
When you create a loop in your network , you have an issue . Normally spanning-tree should take care of this and block one of the ports.
so check your spanning-tree configuration
