Storm-Control configured on access ports where WAP is plugged into?

Good day all,

I have been reading a lot on storm-control and have configured all my access ports with the following config

storm-control broadcast level 85.00 65.00
storm-control multicast level 85.00 65.00
storm-control unicast level 85.00 65.00

What i would like to know is, do i configure storm-control where a "WAP" is plugged into?

I am using a WLC so the traffic is being tunneled to the controller.

my current port config for my AP is as follow:

description "AP04 - NB02"
switchport access vlan 181
switchport mode access
storm-control broadcast level 85.00 65.00
storm-control multicast level 85.00 65.00
storm-control unicast level 85.00 65.00
spanning-tree portfast
spanning-tree bpduguard enable

Thank you in advance for responding to my question.

Regards

Pieter

Hi,

Hi,

I think you should configure storm control on your WAP ports for the following reasons:

It is good practice to  have a standard config  on all ports.

Although the traffic from the WAP is being tunneled to the controller, you could have a situation where a faulty network card cause a network storm.

Thanks

John
