Storm Control Packet Filter Details

Does anyone know what kind of packet filter is exactly applied in a storm control situation:

%STORM_CONTROL-3-FILTERED: A Broadcast storm detected on Gi0/4. A packet filter action has been applied on the interface.

Is this a packet filter that:

- drops all broadcasts ?

- rate limits broadcasts ?

- are multicasts included ?

- are STP/VTP/OSPF packets included ?

regards,

Geert

Re: Storm Control Packet Filter Details

Broadcast & Multicast packets are affected by storm-control config.

The filter action is a drop.

STP/VTP/ are not counted, as they will not be part of a storm, OSPF could be affected.
