Sub-interfaces on a 4948

Does anybody know if the Cisco 4948 switches support sub-interfaces on port-channels? If they do, what IOS version do I need?

Huh? Why would you need sub-interface on etherchannel? What are you trying to accomplish?

So the point of configuring sub-interfaces on my port-channels is to move away from L3 VLAN interfaces.

No , you cannot configure sub-interfaces on 4948.
