Subnetting question

If I were wanting to set up a 10.x.x.x infrastructure corporate wide where the second octet were going to be used as a site designator (company "A" 10.1.x.x, company "B" 10.2.x.x, etc...)There will probably be about 60-70 sites. Then could each site subnet it's own site using the 10.1.x.x, 10.2.x.x, etc... as a base (for example 10.2.(1-256).x . In essence each site could have 10-20 subnets of it's own keeping the site designator for corporate use.

Re: Subnetting question

If you give site A the address space of 10.1.0.0/16. That gives the site 65535 host addresses. He can subnet that however he likes. He could create 255 Class C subnets or 16000 /30 subnets. Summarization is key, so Site A's routing doesn't affect other sites (and your core) routing.

HTH and please rate.
