Hello all,
I'm still pretty new in the Cisco world, and i'm configurating my first 6509-E with SUP720-3B.
This 6500 will do eBGP (default route) and iBGP to another Cisco device, nothing special at that point.
A bunch of L2 switches will be connected to this 6500 (6748 with DFC3B line cards).
I'm going to use this setup for a lot of servers, especially webservers. All websites will have their own dedicated IPv6 addresses, and that's my question in this case :-)
When doing a "sh platform hardware capacity", i'm seeing the following output:

Not sure if this output is readable, but I attached it as a txt document as well.
The "L3 Forwarding Resources" are confusing me.
The SUP720-3B is still in it's default configuration, so it does 192K IPv4 and 32K IPv6 (routes?).
Are these values based on individual IP addresses? So that this setup can deal with 32K IPv6 addresses max?
I know that I can reseize the TCAM table, although I would like to have clear what these numbers mean / what they are based on.
The IPv4 output shows me "1302' used out the 192K available, which is about the Ipv4 addresses that are currently in use. So if this really affects the amount of IPv4/v6 addresses that it can hold, this means a big limitationf or me.
This is a datacenter setup, and IPv6 addresses will grow and grow.
Could anyone clear this up for me?
