SVI not coming up in Cisco 5548

Hi,

I have recently purchased Cisco 5548 with Layer 3 license but when configured multiple SVI's none of them coming up.

I have configured layer 2 vlans, enabled feature and did check module is up or not. In addition I checked License usage as well and all looks good but still SVI is not coming up.

Can anyone help me or faced the same issue in their environment.

Thanks,

Puneet

In order for an svi to come

In order for an svi to come up, you need to have a device in that vlan. Do you have anything connected to the switch?

In addition the moment I put

In addition the moment I put 'management' command under SVI it comes up.

In order for an SVI to come

In order for an SVI to come up you need a connected and active Layer 2 port on that switch which is either:

A) An access port, i.e a host is connected in that Vlan

B) A Trunk port - The trunk port must be up and be carrying that vlan.

If not, the SVI will not come up.

When you say 'two Cisco 5k connected to each other', are these connected at Layer 3 (i.e an ip address each end' or via a Layer 2 Trunk?

Thanks

Did it drop any error
