An access port does not handle dot1Q tags. It only "recognizes" untagged traffic.
The QoS information is carried by the the dscp byte in the ip header. When you use something like "mls qos trust dscp" on the switch-side, it will re-attach a correct tag to the packets. Traffic in the other direction will be marked using the cos-to-dscp map in the switch.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
