Dear Pros,
What could be the cause for the following error message.

Right. From the output above it appears that the bootup was in the middle of loading the IOS from Flash memory and found that one of the blocks of memory is corrupt or bad. So it then kicked you into the boot prompt.
So I'd say that you have bad flash memory. You can try to put another IOS on it in hopes that it's just that one sector that's bad but this may cause problems yet again in your future. If this is a lab router then it won't be that troublesome if it unexpectedly reloads sometimes.
But if that doesn't work then I suggest installing new flash mem.
Just out of curiosity. If this router's memory filled up and it's trying to read some information past it's limit?
