Hello,

I know the default switch forwarding process is store and forward but how can I change the forwarding process to cut through and fragment free as I want to do some speed testing inmy lab?

Thanks

Hi Andy,

I have seen that some switches use cut-through method as native which automatically switches to store-and-forward switching mode when error rates exceed user set threshold levels. But these were older switches (like this one here http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps633/products_data_sheet09186a00800922a4.html)

The Catalyst 3100 provides low-latency,  cut-through switching for high-performance connectivity, which  automatically switches to store-and- forward switching mode when error  rates exceed user set threshold levels.

But I suppose it is not possible to switch between these modes on newer switches

Best regards,

Jan
