Hi guys:

Yesterday, I upgraded the newest IOS 15.0(1)SE for our SW C2960-24-TT-L, the process was succeseful.

However, we found SW memory utilization raised to 82% this morning in normal situation. (Momery: Total 21341260, Used17471692)

Did you guys meet the same problem after upgrading to 15.0(1)SE?

I also would like to know what the normal memory utilization is? and what is the impact of memory utilization highly?

Thanks for advance !

anyone help?

Did you check the amount of memory this IOS uses, before the upgrade? This info should be available when you're going to download the IOS software. See and compare against the available RAM on your switch.

I had a case where I could no longer ssh into a switch, due to low memory.

I didn't check memory uses before, but from our Nagios monitoring we know that memory utilization was around 8M - 9M.

so it is really higher than before, is the new IOS caused? or new version unstable?

Do NOT use IOS 15.0(1)SE.  There's an existing memory leak bug and this bug affects appliances with run this IOS (2960/2960S, 3560G/3560E/3560X, 3750G/3750E/3750X).

Use either 12.2(55)SE4 or 12.2(58)SE2.  The next release for the 15.0 is scheduled for March 2012.

Leolaohoo,

Thanks for your information, is there any offical documents to describe this bug?

if so, I have to roll back to original IOS to ensure running stable..
