Switch port not responding.

Hello,

I have a 24 ports cisco catalyst 2960 series SI switch running fine expect a single port.

could you please advise a check list.

Okay here is the checklist: 1

Okay here is the checklist:

 

1- Try changing the cable.

2- Connect new cable and other end to your laptop see if hte light turns to green.

3- Do a TDR test if you want.

4- If in case you happen to see no lights when conected with good cable then port is faulty.

5- Hence you would be left with 2 options:

a) Run the switch with 23 ports.

b) If you have contract get the switch RMA.

Stating the obvious, I assume you have checked the interface is not shutdown or been err-disabled?
