Hi folks,
I noticed that applications of all of sudden stopped working.
Then I connected via console cable and noticed that switch "lost" config.
If I do a "dir" I see the following below.
Switch#dir
Directory of flash:/
2 -rwx 269 Jan 01 1970 00:01:24 +00:00 env_vars
3 -rwx 3721946 Mar 11 2009 23:43:50 +00:00 c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA13.bin
4 -rwx 1575 Aug 28 2009 15:25:46 +00:00 private-config.text.renamed
5 -rwx 1170 Mar 01 1993 00:09:23 +00:00 config.text
6 -rwx 736 Mar 01 1993 00:00:24 +00:00 vlan
7 -rwx 24 Mar 01 1993 00:09:24 +00:00 private-config.text
8 drwx 832 Mar 01 1993 00:04:40 +00:00 html
22 -rwx 109 Mar 01 1993 00:04:41 +00:00 info
23 -rwx 109 Mar 01 1993 00:04:41 +00:00 info.ver
25 -rwx 836 Mar 01 1993 01:22:45 +00:00 vlan.dat
How do I recover again from here?
I have no one onsite to hit console button and let me go into ROMMON.

Don't worry about the config, you lost the IOS too. You can save the current config if you type the "wr mem" command.

Not sure if I understand what I meant by I "lost the IOS". I see the respective image file still there.
Are you saying that from here I have to simply reconfigure the whole thing instead of attempting to rename and reload the .rename config?
Do we know what could have caused such behavior? If files are ".renamed", I imagine this was not simply an issue caused by someone who forgot to save configuration, corect?

Looks like you edited your post after my initial post. I can see the "config.text" there so your config is still there.
