Can someone please tell me why the attched config gives me only a Password: prompt when I SSH to it? It originally had a password on line vty 0 4.

Under the vty lines add login local:

line vty 0 4

exec-timeout 0 0

login local

transport input ssh

And test again.

I use AAA and login authentication admin under line vty 0 4 on all my routers and have never run into this problem. I'll try login local and let you know what happens.

This just keeps getting better. The only option for the login command is authentication. No local.

OMFG I'm an idiot. The reason I wasn't getting a username prompt when using SSH to get to the switch is because I was coming from a router. The switch was using the router's username so I just needed to supply the password.
