switchport Down Type 2960s / WS-C2960S-48FPS-L/15.0(1)SE2 / C2960S-UNIVERSALK9-M

Hello,

could you help me please to find a solution.(no Layer 1 problem)

cases:

1) PC Windows 7 directly to the switchport port status down down

2) PC Windows 7 over a small access switch netgear 6 port  the port status is up up

3) Printer directly to the switchport  port status up up

4) PC Windows 7 via Phone 7961 Port status up up

5) XP Shuttle pc directly to the switchport Port Status up up

could you help me please for the first case I need a solution to connect the PC s directly to the Switch ports

Hmmm ... I got  feeling you have a patch cable issue.   Can you please do a TDR?

Here's are the command combinations:

1.  Command:  test cable tdr interface ;

2.  Wait for about 5 to 7 seconds;

3.  Command:  sh cable tdr interface ;

4.  Please post the output

I'm suspecting your PC has a GigabitEthernet NIC card and Pair "D" could be either "short" or "open" status.
