Can anyone tell me what lines are synchronus and what are asynchronus ?

On routers, the serial interfaces can be sync or async. You can see which type of interfaces you have by using 'show ver' or 'sh run'. An asyn interface is named Asyn X and a sync interface just SerialX.
Lines are entities that can be related to asyn interfaces. On lines you can configure many parameters for asyn interfaces like speed, flowcontrol, etc.

Lines like console, AUX and other RS232 are async. Almost any other likely to be sync.
